We look ahead to the first leg of tomorrow's UEFA Champions League semifinal between Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund.

With the Ligue 1 Uber Eats title secured thanks to their draw against AC Le Havre at the weekend, Paris Saint-Germain will now turn their attention, over the next fortnight, to the UEFA Champions League. In their semifinal tie, they have been drawn against a familiar face in Borussia Dortmund. The two teams met in the group stage, with PSG winning comfortably at the Parc des Princes on the first matchday before securing a nervy one-all draw to clinch their place in the knockout rounds thanks to a late penalty converted by Kylian Mbappé.

Now, having gotten past a pair of La Liga sides in first Real Sociedad and then FC Barcelona, Luis Enrique will lead his team to Germany hoping for a place in the final. It won't be an easy task, but after struggling with absences through injury to the likes of Marquinhos, Nuno Mendes and other key players through long stretches of the season, the Spaniard now has close to a full-strength squad upon which to call for this crucial encounter, after having rested several players at the weekend.

Having not reached this stage of the competition since the COVID-19-affected 2019-20 season, all of the pressure is on the Ligue 1 Uber Eats side, who have a far more expensively assembled side than their Bundesliga opponents, and are playing what could be their final season with Mbappé in the side. Enrique -- who won the Champions League with FC Barcelona in 2015, struck a sanguine balance in a press conference ahead of the match, remarking that, "Since the day I arrived here, I have felt the support of the players and the entire club. We have improved all season and this is only the start of our project. We are still learning and progressing and mustn’t see pressure as a negative thing."

As for the hosts, Edin Terzić's side have far less to celebrate -- they have just one Bundesliga win since the beginning of April, and while they may have scraped past PSV Eindhoven in the Round of 16 and Atletíco Madrid in the quarterfinals, the Parisians look to be a far sterner test, as evidenced by the result of the first encounter between the two sides. Since then, the team have added England's Jadon Sancho on loan. With three goals and an assist since joining, he has added some attacking spark to the hosts' play, and will be marked as one of their danger men. Especially with Dortmund playing at home, they will likely be given license to attack, setting the first leg of this tie up as a thrilling one.

Predicted lineups:

Borussia Dortmund: (4-2-3-1): Kobel; Ryerson, Hummels, Schlotterbeck, Maatsen; Can, Sabitzer; Adeyemi, Brandt, Sancho; Füllkrug

Paris Saint-Germain: (4-3-3): Donnarumma; Hakimi, Marquinhos, Hernandez, Mendes; Zaïre-Emery, Vitinha, Ruiz; Dembélé, Mbappé, Barcola
