As the 2022-23 Ligue 1 Uber Eats season rockets towards a sensational culmination, with electric battles for European places and top-flight survival, find out what criteria will be used to resolve a tie in the standings.

There are various criteria for breaking ties in the standings come the end of the season. Article 518 of the 2022-23 regulations sets out the procedure for determining who comes out on top - and who loses out -  in the Ligue 1 Uber Eats season.

1. General goal difference:
In the event of a tie on points, the final ranking of the tied clubs is determined by the difference between the goals scored and the goals conceded by each of them during the matches played over the season.

2. Most points taken head-to-head:
If the sides are still tied, advantage will be given to the club having scored more points in the matches played between them.

3. Head-to-head goal difference:
If the sides are still tied, the ranking will be decided on the basis of goal difference in the matches played between them.

4. Most goals in head-to-head matches:
If the sides are still tied, the club having scored more goals in the matches played between them will be given the advantage.

5. Most away goals in head-to-head confrontations:
If the sides are still tied, the club having scored the most away goals in the matches played between them shall be given the advantage.

6. Best overall attack:
If the sides are still tied, advantage will be given to the club having scored the most goals over the entire Ligue 1 Uber Eats season.

7. Best away attack (general):
If the sides are still tied, advantage will be given to the club having scored the most away goals over the entire Ligue 1 Uber Eats season.

8. Fair play:
If the sides are still tied, the LFP will decide between the clubs according to their good conduct: yellow card = 1 point; red card = 3 points
