Why France Are Already Certain to Finish Fifth in UEFA Club Coefficient Rankings

Thanks to PSV Eindhoven's exit from the Champions League Round of 16 against Borussia Dortmund, France (65.164 points) is guaranteed to secure fifth place in the UEFA club coefficient rankings for the 2023-24 season, surpassing the Netherlands (sixth place, 61.300 points). This marks the culmination of the allocation process for European slots in the 2025-26 season, based on the performance over the last five seasons.

Dutch Absence Paves the Way for French Success

While Dutch clubs are notably absent from the quarterfinals, France stands out with three teams advancing to the next round: Paris Saint-Germain, Olympique de Marseille, and LOSC Lille.

France Claims Fourth Position in Seasonal Country Coefficient

French clubs are currently holding onto the fourth spot in this season's rankings, showcasing a strong collective performance and surpassing Spain with 14.583 points. This accomplishment marks their second-best ranking achieved in the past five seasons.
