Rennes boss Frédéric Antonetti was at a loss to explain his side's nerviness as they squeezed past Evian 3-2 to reach the quarter-finals; Evian's Pablo Correa expects much better from his defence.

Rennes 3 - 2 Evian

Frédéric Antonetti (Rennes coach): "We made it to the quarter-finals, that was the most important thing. We played a very average match, absolutely, but it was enough. We didn't get into the game and we didn't play as a team. The second half was better; we were more proactive and we were rewarded with two beautiful goals. Then we conceded and, because we're not on top of our game in terms of mentality, we started to have doubts. We lost our shape and got ourselves into a whole lot of trouble. We need to learn our lessons from this match. I can't really explain it though; I don't know why we were so shaky."

Pablo Correa (Evian coach): "We came so close to levelling the scores, but we also came close to conceding an avalanche of goals. The match seemed to be over at 3-0 down, but we showed some real pride to pull two goals back. I'm not angry with my players but I do wonder how we'll ever start winning matches if we have to score four goals to do so. I wasn't impressed in the least by our defensive display. We had our ambitions for the Coupe de France, but we got a tough draw, and when you're three goals down, it's almost impossible to make it through."
