International friendly

Roazhon Park, Rennes

 France 5 - 0 Paraguay

Didier Deschamps (France coach): "Given the result and the way we played - we could have scored even more goals - I'm satisfied; there's a real team spirit. Our forwards scored tonight. We're on a strong dynamic, and that's a great thing as we head to Sweden, even though it will be a completely different match over there. [On hat-trick hero Olivier Giroud] He scored practically every time. Even though his season with his club was a bit complicated, his goals to minutes played ratio is good. And when he doesn't score, he is still useful for the team. He is unfairly criticised sometimes, but he always steps up on the pitch. [On his substitutes] The collective is always the most important aspect. I have a squad of 25 players. They're all in the running and playing time is precious. Whether they have five or ten minutes or a half of a match to play, they need to make the most of it."

Francisco Arce (Paraguay coach): "We saw a big difference in speed, and we came off second-best in the challenges. We hadn't had long to work together and it was necessary to use new players. Losing is always complicated, but we'll learn our lessons. The France players play in big European clubs and the six substitutes who came on were at the same level as the 11 players who started, which wasn't the case for us. France are one of the best teams in the world. I had a chance to talk to Didier Deschamps and we each wished each other good luck in the future. He has been working with his team for five years now and you can see that out on the pitch."
