Despite many of the weekend's French Cup matches being postponed due to the cold snap in France, the draw for the round of 32 was held on Sunday night, with Monaco v Lyon looming as the clash of the round.

Conducted by France coach Raymond Domenech and Miss France Malika Ménard, the draw went ahead despite thirteen of the round-of-64 matches remaining to be played.

As a result, the draw makes for some difficult reading, with only five matches so far having both opponents confirmed, but already it’s clear that the all-Ligue 1 clash between Monaco and Lyon will be the biggest match of the round.

Ligue 1 heavyweights Bordeaux are set for tougher opposition in this round, playing host to Ligue 2 side Ajaccio while Paris Saint-Germain will take on  National (D3) side Evian TGFC at the Parc des Princes.

Marseille will take on the winner of CFA (D4) side Compiègne and Lens while National side Plabennec, who scored the upset of the round of 64 by eliminating Nice, could well be up against another Ligue 1 side if Nancy account for CFA(D5) outfit Thiers.

The round of 32 will be played on the 23rd and 24th of January 2010. Weather permitting, of course.
