Gourcuff back in France squad
Fit-again Yoann Gourcuff has been recalled to the France squad for the friendly against Italy on November 14.
Gourcuff, who started in Lyon's 5-2 win against Bastia last weekend in his first Ligue 1 appearance since August, will hope to make his first appearance for Les Bleus since Didier Deschamps was appointed as coach in the summer. He won the last of his 29 caps against Iceland in May.
Meanwhile, LOSC Lille winger Dimitri Payet, who has not featured for his country for two years, is back in the squad, but there is no place for Real Madrid's Karim Benzema due to an adductor injury. Payet's Lille teammate Rio Mavuba is also left out, having only just returned after a knee operation. There are a total of 15 Ligue 1-based players in the 23-man squad for the game, which will be played in Parma.
