Kanté praise for PSG and Mbappé

Les Bleus

Paris-born N'Golo Kanté believes his hometown club can "reasonably hope to win the Champions League" and has tipped Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappé to enjoy "some great years" in the game.

Kanté's career has taken a meteoric trajectory since his move from SM Caen to Leicester City in 2015, first helping the Foxes to a shock Premier League title triumph before switching to Chelsea and winning the English top-flight crown again last term.

The France international has watched from afar as Paris Saint-Germain have also made great strides forward in recent years, and he is now convinced they have the quality to reach the summit of European football.

"PSG are super good! It's a club that's made to go far," Kanté told Le Parisien. "They don't have much to envy the big European sides. They can reasonably hope to win the Champions League."

Unai Emery's men certainly laid down a marker in beating group-stage rivals Bayern Munich 3-0 having swept aside Celtic 5-0 in Glasgow in their opening match of this season's competition.

Like Kanté, who immediately settled into English football after crossing the Channel, Kylian Mbappé has quickly found his feet at PSG after returning to his native region around France's capital.

"He's doing some great things," said Kanté, who is likely to feature alongside the PSG forward in the France side that plays Bulgaria on Saturday.

"He has great technical qualities, bags of pace, he scores, he plays for others and has his head on his shoulders. He's got some great years ahead of him."
