Les Bleus: Coman in doubt, Varane back in training

Les Bleus

Mixed news for Didier Deschamps France side with Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman (foot) doubtful while Real Madrid stopper Raphaël Varane (groin) is fit again ahead of Friday's friendly against Wales in Paris.

Former Paris Saint-Germain  youth prospect Coman, currently enjoying a strong start to the season with a goal and two assists in six appearances for the Bundesliga leaders, once again trained with physios on Wednesday, while coaching staff have reported that Varane has returned to regular training with the full squad.

The Bayern winger is suffering from a 'small pain' in his foot and, given that the upcoming matches against Wales (Friday, at the Stade de France) and Germany (Tuesday, in Cologne) are friendlies, Deschamps and his staff are taking no chances with the 21-year-old star's fitness.

On the up and up

Meanwhile, Varane has been sidelined with a groin strain sustained on club duty with Real Madrid and Wendesday was the first time that the 24-year-old central defender has completed a full training session with the squad since the training camp began on Monday.

The Wales match kicks off at 21:00 CET on Friday, November 10.
