Mbappé: 'I can play well with Griezmann'

Les Bleus

Kylian Mbappé is confident he can strike up a fruitful partnership with Antoine Griezmann should the pair be in France's starting line-up against Bulgaria on Saturday.

Les Bleus need a win in Sofia to retain top spot in Group A and remain in pole position to reach the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia next summer ahead of next week's final qualifier against Belarus.

France boss Didier Deschamps is set to place Mbappé and Griezmann either side of Arsenal forward Alexandre Lacazette, and the PSG striker believes it is a combination that will work, particularly with him and his Atletico Madrid counterpart destined to hit if off.

"We're two intelligent players, who can play with others. We're also complementary," said the teenage forward, who is set to win his seventh senior cap.

"Antoine is more a player who drops off, who takes part in the build-up play. I can bring that ability to go deep that Antoine perhaps doesn't have and that he compensates for with other qualities."
