Rémy in doubt for Inter clash

Marseille striker Loïc Rémy could miss out on the Champions League visit of Inter on Tuesday after pulling up short with hamstring complaint in OM's 3-1 Coupe de France win over Bourg-Péronnas on Wednesday night.

OM boss Didier Deschamps had been looking to sub Rémy off after an hour's play against fourth-division amateurs Bourg-Péronnas, but his hand was forced when the France striker couldn't continue after the first half, suffering stabbing pains in one of his hamstrings after attempting a burst of pace.

Deschamps optimistic

"He felt a bit of a twang in one hamstring," revealed Deschamps. "He'll have some exams. We'll have to wait and see but I think it's only a slight thing."

With OM still in the running in four competitions, Deschamps can hardly afford to have his top scorer (nine league goals this season) out of action for long, but Rémy will be unavailable for this weekend's clash with Valenciennes and could well miss out on next Tuesday's last-16 Champions League lash with Inter at the Stade Vélodrome next Tuesday.
