Coupe de France, Round of 16
Stade des Alpes, Grenoble
GF38 0 - 3 RC Strasbourg Alsace
Grenoble pushed hard from the off and carved out three chances early on, but Strasbourg's defence, led by Bakary Koné and Yoann Salmier, held firm and paved the way for Stéphane Bahoken to draw first blood (32') with their only chance of the first half.
Grenoble's Florian Sotoca thought he had equalised early after the break, but had his effort ruled out for off-side (48'), and then fired narrowly wide just after the hour-mark (64'), but Strasbourg's Martin Terrier (78') and Anthony Gonçalves (90'+4) sealed the deal late on in the piece and sent the Alsatian club through to the next round for the first time in 16 years.
Strasbourg will now face National (D3) side Chambly in the quarters on February 27 or 28, the draw affording them the advantage of playing their tie at home.
