Yohann Pelé will be in goal for Marseille in Brittany with Steve Mandanda rested, joining the suspended Dimitri Payet in staying at home. With Sunday's Ligue 1 Conforama clash with fellow podium pretenders Olympique Lyonnais looming, the key trio of Florian Thauvin, Adil Rami and Luiz Gustavo may also not feature for the full 90 minutes even if boss Rudi Garcia is determined his side will seek to avenge September's 3-1 loss at home to Rennes, their last domestic defeat.

"We gave them two big gifts in the opening minutes. They led 2-0, and we weren't able to turn it around," he said. "That defeat served as a lesson."

Rennes, who face Paris Saint-Germain and then AS Monaco in their final two league games of the calendar year, are without the suspended James Léa Siliki and the injured Thomas Brandon. Joris Gnagnon could start in the back four while Wahbi Khazri, who missed the weekend draw in Metz, is set to return.

Sunday's league clash with Marseille, who are currently level on points with second-placed OL, means Bruno Genesio will consider his team selection carefully.

While first-team regulars such as Memphis Depay, Maxwel Cornet and Jérémy Morel are set to feature, Genesio is expected to give former Montpellier captain Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa only his second start of the season while Mathieu Gorgelin will replace Anthony Lopes in goal.

The hosts have to cope without the suspended Pedro Mendes and Isaac Mbenza while first-choice goalkeeper Benjamin Lecomte is expected to be replaced by teenager Dimitry Bertaud, 19.

The quirks of the fixture list mean this pair will meet again at the Stade Pierre Mauroy next Wednesday for their final Ligue 1 Conforama game of the year. Teenage midfielder Boubakary Soumaré, 18, who impressed in the 3-1 loss at PSG on Saturday, is set to start for Lille.

Nice can call on Dante after the Brazil international defender's return from suspension while Yoan Cardinale will replace Walter Benitez in goal.

While Prince Gouano and Guy N'Gosso are sidelined, first-choice goalkeeper Régis Gurtner will keep his place. Christophe Pélissier is expected to make a number of changes to the starting line-up, picking a side similar to the one that won 2-1 at ESTAC Troyes in the previous round in October.
