Youri Djorkaeff - Ambassador for the final!

Coupe de la Ligue

The 1998 World Cup winner will be the ambassador for the final of the Coupe de la Ligue between AS Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain on Saturday, 1 April.

Lyon native Youri Djorkaeff will return to the district of Décines - where his first-ever football club is located - on Saturday, 1 April for the Coupe de la Ligue final.

The former France forward (82 caps), who won the 1998 World Cup and Euro 2000 with Les Bleus, will be the ambassador for the final of the 23rd edition of the competition, between Paris Saint-Germain and AS Monaco, two clubs with whom he played during his storied career.

The Snake will give the fictive kick-off for the final at the Parc OL and will also be involved in the presentation of the Man of the Match award at the end of the clash.

In Youri Djorkaeff's extensive trophy cabinet,  one can find a UEFA Cup Winners' Cup trophy, won with the capital club in 1996, and a Coupe de France title, claimed with Monaco in 1991.
