The first round of the upcoming League Cup will be held on July 30 and 31, 2010.

This round will see the professional teams from the National (whose professional status is to be determined by the DNCG) and the 20 clubs from Ligue 2.

The 12 sides that qualify from this first round will fight it out among themselves in the second round, which will take place on August 24 and 25, 2010.

Six sides will progress to the round of 32, where they will join the 14 Ligue 1 sides not playing in Europe this season.

The ten sides making it through the round of 32 will progress to the round of 16 (October 26 and 27, 2010), where they will be joined by Ligue 1’s European sides (Olympique de Marseille, Olympique Lyonnais, AJ Auxerre, LOSC, Montpellier Hérault SC and Paris Saint-Germain).

The quarter-finals will be held on November 9 and 10, 2010, with the semi-finals to take place on January 18 and 19, 2011. The final will light up the Stade de France on Saturday, April 23, 2011.

First round

The draw for the first round has been held and the two matches to look out for pit Le Havre against Le Mans and Boulgne against Nantes.
