In season 2017-18, there will be three mid-week rounds - Weeks 15, 19 and 21. Along with Weeks 37 and 38, Week 19 will see all its fixtures played simultaneously. For the mid-week rounds, three matches will be played on the Tuesday (two at 19:00 and one at 21:00) and the seven others on the Wednesday (six at 19:00 and one at 21:00).
Since season 2014-15, Ligue 1 Conforama has used a modernised calendar in order to best cater to sporting issues, the wishes of clubs and those of the broadcasters, as well as climatic and organizational constraints.
As has been the case over the last two seasons, the 2017-18 Ligue 1 Conforama calendar is asymmetrical and each club has four pivots - a pivot comprising consecutive matches at home or away (eight clubs have four pivots, ten have three and two have two).
The asymmetrical structure preserves sporting fairness as each club will play nine or ten matches at home and nine or ten matches away from home in each half of the season. A club can play a maximum of three away games in a run of five matches. Despite its asymmetry, this calendar preserves a gap of at least six rounds between the first and second time two clubs play each other in the course of the Ligue 1 Conforama season.
