Giovanni Sio scored with the last kick of the game as Montpellier beat ten-man Toulouse 2-1 to go sixth in the table.

Montpellier Hérault SC 2-1 Toulouse FC

THE MATCH

In midweek TFC had equalised in the 96th minute at home to Nantes but here the boot was firmly on the other foot for Pascal Dupraz's side. The visitors were ahead thanks to Giannelli Imbula (30') when Max-Alain Gradel (41') was sent off. Junior Sambia (43') equalised before half-time but TFC goalkeeper Alban Lafont kept MHSC at bay until Sio's salvo.

19th-placed TFC have still only taken five points on their travels all season but they took the lead through Imbula's 35-metre shot that caught Benjamin Lecomte by surprise. On loan from Stoke, this was Imbula's first Ligue 1 Conforama goal for TFC in his 17th match for the club.

TFC had further chances through Ibrahim Sangaré and Issiaga Sylla before Gradel was shown a straight red card for a dangerous tackle on Jérôme Roussillon. Sambia's free-kick then took a wicked deflection off Yaya Sanogo, leaving Lafont no chance whatsoever.

The last 15 minutes were thrilling. Lafont came up with a majestic pointblank save from Isaac Mbenza, then TFC forward Andy Delort hit the post when one-on-one with Lecomte. Roussillon struck the post with Lafont beaten at the start of added time before the late, late drama as Lafont pushed Nordi Mukiele's cross onto Sio who - somewhat fortuitously - prodded home his fifth of the season.

MHSC have lost only two of their last 17 league matches, while TFC's situation worsened as many of their relegation rivals claimed points.

THE PLAYER: Jérôme Roussillon

As ever, Roussillon was a bundle of energy down the left and he deserved to be on the winning side. The wing-back created Mbenza's glorious chance and then hit the woodwork before observing Sio's winner.

THE STAT: 15

MHSC have conceded only 15 goals this season and should PSG concede at Olympique Lyonnais on Sunday night then Michel Der Zakarian's side will have sole possession of the best defensive record in the division.
