Al-Khelaifi: Ancelotti 'doing an excellent job'
Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi considers coach Carlo Ancelotti to be one of the best in the world and hopes that the Italian will stay with the capital club next season.
In his first full season in charge of PSG, Ancelotti has taken the team to the top of Ligue 1, the quarter-finals of the Coupe de France, and the last eight of the Champions League. The former AC Milan and Chelsea boss was keen to point out this week that PSG are one of only four sides on the continent that can still win a domestic double as well as Europe's biggest club competition, and a satisfied Al-Khelaifi has given Ancelotti his full backing.
"If he wants to be here next year, he will be," Al-Khelaifi told Le Parisien on Saturday, dismissing suggestions that there will be a different face in the dugout next season. "He is doing an excellent job. Sometimes it is difficult because of the pressure he is under, but he is coping very well. Carlo is one of the best coaches in the world, if not the best.
"I think he is going to continue but we will see at the end of the season. My position will be reviewed too. That is what happens in all companies. We are in the quarter-finals of the Coupe de France and the Champions League, and on top of the championship. What more can we ask for other than to touch the sky?"
