Out of favour at club Paris Saint-Germain, France forward Hatem Ben Arfa has vowed to fight for a place in the team following a hearing with the LFP's Legal Commission concerning his relegation to the club's reserve squad.

Upon leaving the hearing, Ben Arfa looked relieved and satisfied at having had his say on the matter of his being frozen out of Unai Emery's senior squad at the Parc des Princes this season.

'Resolve this situation'

"It was great; the people from the league gave us a warm welcome and there was a good atmosphere," the player told radio station RMC. "It was in the framework of an amicable resolution of our problem, so it was positive form both sides. That's what I'm after, I just want to resolve this situation, so I'm very happy with this meeting with the representatives of the club and the commission. There will be no more yo-yoing between the senior and reserve squads. I'm training normally."

However, even if the situation in training has been more or less resolved, the 30-year-old still doesn't figure in Emery's plans - he hasn't played since April and hasn't been on a teamsheet all season. But he isn't about to give up, even if it means seeing out his contract, which runs until June 2018, without making any more appearances for his hometown club.

'Plenty of hope'

"I won't try to force the coach to play me, that's not how I'm approaching it. My approach is train as hard as I can and stay profession, with a smile and good humour. I have plenty of hope, and I train every day in the aim of playing - that's what's in my head every day. I'm still under contract," said the attacking midfielder, whom Saint-Etienne and Stade Rennais reportedly both wish to get on their books.

"In life, you never know. I've had tough times before, and I've always bounced back. If my wish doesn't come true, I'll leave the club, no problem. But in the meantime, I'm under contract and I'll stay until it ends. I'm not looking for a winter departure."
