Di Maria happy but wants more PSG game time

Paris Saint-Germain winger Angel Di Maria has reaffirmed his commitment to Paris Saint-Germain, but would "like to play more" following his goalscoring display against RC Strasbourg Alsace in the Coupe de la Ligue.

The Argentine has started ten of PSG's 16 Ligue 1 Conforama games this term, with the arrivals of Neymar and Kylian Mbappé impinging on his game time, but following his strike Wednesday's 4-2 win at Strasbourg - his fourth in all competitions for the league leaders - the 29-year-old says he's ready to play more.

'Happy in Paris'

"I'm happy in Paris, not so much with the season," he told the assembled press, post-match. "I'd like to play more, but I'm grateful for the minutes I'm getting and proving that I'm ready to be a starter. I'm doing the right things to show that I want to be a starter, that I want to play."

Di Maria - who has also turned out for Benfica, Real Madrid and Manchester United in a glittering career - has won six major trophies since arriving at the Parc des Princes in 2015, and he appears ready to help the team claim more.

"I know that the coach makes these decisions. The truth is, if someone thinks about it and isn't happy, they need to play to prove that they should start."
