Hamouma: 'We can do beautiful things'
Romain Hamouma is convinced Saint-Etienne have the strength in depth to compete on three fronts, and says Friday's match with Rennes won't influence the outcome of the Coupe de la Ligue final.
ASSE meet Rennes at the Stade de France on April 20, but before that Les Verts travel to Brittany to take on Rennes in Week 28. Christophe Galtier's men are aiming to maintain their unbeaten start to 2013.
Saint-Etienne have a Coupe de France quarter-final at home to Lorient to look forward to four days before their first final since 1982, and Galtier's men are performing brilliantly in Ligue 1 as well. Six wins and two draws in 2013 have carried them up to fourth in the table, two points behind Olympique de Marseille.
Hamouma is on his way back to peak form after six weeks on the sidelines with a thigh injury and the flying winger provided a sumptuous assist for Brandao's second goal in the 4-0 rout of Nice last Saturday.
The former Caen wide man said: "I feel good and I'm playing without apprehension. The squad is full of confidence and putting together very good results. We've got common objectives and as long as we stay humble we are capable of achieving beautiful things.
"We've got a strong squad that's full of quality. We prefer playing in all three competitions than just coming in to train. The Rennes match is just one of 38 league games and we're not thinking about the Coupe de la Ligue final just yet. The final will be played on the day, not before."
