Bernard Casoni (FC Lorient coach): "We started well - we hit the post - and conceded practically no chances. We had the ball and we had a lot of chances, but we couldn't hit the target. If you can't do that, winning matches is really tough, but the players gave their all. I don't know how the players saw it, but our 'keeper had no saves to make. You can't say that we didn't try our hardest; we fought to the bitter end but those two goals from the first leg are what got us relegated. Since the match in Metz, we haven't had a win. We had chances, but we didn't take them. It's hard to take. [On his personal future] I have no idea at all; we'll see tomorrow. My objective was beating the drop, and obviously we didn't achieve that."
Jean-Louis Garcia (ESTAC Troyes coach): "It was huge! I have an extraordinary squad of players - they're talented and they stayed committed to this project. We've had an incredible adventure with some massive moments. We felt that if we didn't play our game, things wouldn't work out. We were under the pump but we created chances too. Our system worked well and we were disciplined even though we didn't always use the ball to the best of our abilities. My thoughts go to my dad, who left us not that long ago. I think he would be proud of me. Last season, I was with Grenoble in the CFA and we missed out on promotion by a whisker. It was a tough time for me but now I'm headed for Ligue 1! I hope I will prove equal to the task. [On veteran Benjamin Nivet's future] Nivet will be with us next season."
