AS Monaco's players and coach Leonardo Jardim looked back on an almost perfect season after clinching the Ligue 1 title on Wednesday.

Leonardo Jardim (Monaco coach): "To win the league with a team that wasn't favourite makes it a great trophy. It's the most important trophy of my coaching career. We have worked a lot for 11 months, but the best thing has come in the shape of this trophy. Monaco as champions is worth four times Paris being champions. It's a habit for Paris to win, but Monaco…I think it's the best season in Monaco's history: the league title, final of the Coupe de la Ligue, semi-finals of the Coupe de France and the Champions League."

Djibril Sidibé (Monaco defender): "It's the result of the whole club's work. We've had a magnificent season. We're a bunch of friends who have fun on the pitch. We play with our values, everyone puts in the effort. We're going to celebrate that with our fans."

Bernardo Silva (Monaco midfielder): "It's time to enjoy it, to celebrate. We've had an exceptional season, we deserve it. It's a trophy that is for the whole squad."

Kylian Mbappé (Monaco forward): "We have managed to hold on in the face of two teams like Paris and Nice who have kept going right to the end. We're champions, it's exceptional. After the victory last year in the Gambardella [France's most presitgious national youth team cup competition], my mother said to me, 'That's very nice, but that's with children.' I replied: 'Look, give me a year and I'll do the same with the adults.' For next year, I promise an even better season. You always have to place the bar high, otherwise you don't improve."

Christophe Galtier (Saint-Etienne coach): "Monaco deserved it for their season, the number of goals scored, it's exceptional. They're a team that always plays in the same way, but always causes as many problems. There is a lot of athletic strength and speed allied with great technical qualities."
