Amiens scored twice in the last 11 minutes in order to score an important 3-1 home win against Guingamp, Amiens' first three-point haul in seven games.
Amiens SC 3-1 EA Guingamp
Guingamp, beaten by OL in midweek, again fell by a two-goal margin, another setback for Antoine Kombouaré's men as before the OL loss they'd gone six matches unbeaten. Moussa Konaté scored twice for Amiens, while Harrison Manzala starred off the bench, setting up the last two goals.
Amiens went ahead from the penalty spot (16') after Thomas Monconduit had been fouled by Moustapha Diallo. Konaté sent Kalle Johnsson the wrong way from 12 yards. Yet 12 minutes later Guingamp were level thanks to a superlative Marcus Coco strike from fully 25 metres out.
Christophe Pelissier threw on Manzala and the wide attacker's low cross was finished in style by Konaté (79'). Five minutes later Manzala was at it again, this time his shot against the post rebounded to Mathieu Bodmer and the 35-year-old midfielder scored his first goal for the club.
THE PLAYER: Moussa Konaté
The Senegalese international followed up his late equaliser against Montpellier in midweek with a double that took him on to seven league goals for the season. The forward has scored five of Amiens' last nine in Ligue 1 Conforama and his form will be crucial to hopes of a second season in the top division.
THE STAT: 21
This was Guingamp's first defeat to a promoted club in 21 matches since falling 1-0 to Metz in September 2014.
