Lucas confident PSG can beat Barcelona
Paris Saint-Germain's Lucas Moura is confident the capital club have what it takes to dispose of Barcelona in the Champions League quarter-finals next month.
Responding to questions posed by PSG fans through the club's official website, the Brazilian international said: "I like Messi a lot and we'll face each other in the quarter-finals of the Champions League. It will be a huge challenge to take on Barcelona but we're certain we're as strong as them and believe strongly in our chances of qualifying for the last four."
Lucas, 20, has settled in quickly to French football after his 40 million euro move from Sao Paulo and has impressed observes with his sparky displays and dribbling ability, already contributing three assists in his eight league games to date.
Two of those final balls have been for Ligue 1 top scorer Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Lucas used the question and answer session to clarify comments attributed to him on the subject of the Swedish international. He said: "My words were badly interpreted, maybe because I didn't express myself well enough. What I wanted to say is that Ibra is a great player and has a strong character like all forwards!
"He really wants to win and calls for the ball the whole time. We play very well together and he's a friend. He's really nice and indispensable to the team."
With PSG topping the Ligue 1 table by five points, Lucas is in line to achieve something his illustrious predecessor at the club Ronaldinho never managed and collect a French championship medal. Lucas said: "Ronaldinho is a fantastic player and I'm a big fan. I'm full of admiration for his career because he's won a lot of medals, and above all that he's a friend. Of course I want to stay as long as possible in Paris because I want to leave my mark in the club's history."
