Mbappé meets Weah and Macron at Elysée Palace
Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappé met Liberian president George Weah and French president Emmanuel Macron in Paris on Wednesday.
Mbappé, 19, was the youngest of those invited to the Elysée Palace as sport in Africa was on the agenda. Speaking to journalists after the meeting Mbappé talked about being present alongside former PSG star Weah: "I was sat next to Didier Drogba and near George Weah and President Macron. I learned a lot at the lunch and this was something new for me. It was enriching and I hope there'll be other chances such as this. I love football and George Weah is a legend. President Weah is an extremely honourable man and a source of inspiration."
Preternaturally composed to the point that he's dubbed "my little Obama" by former Monaco team-mate Benjamin Mendy, Mbappé continued: "I came to this lunch because developing sport in Africa is something close to my heart. Even if I'm French I have African origins. If I can use my fame and projects to help African sport develop then I'll do it with great pleasure."
