Paris Saint-Germain wunderkind Kylian Mbappé has gone from strength to strength since his move to Paris in the summer, and is loving life alongside Neymar Jr and Edinson Cavani. Interview.

2017 isn't yet over goal it's already been a great year for Paris. Awarded the Olympic Games for 2024, the future is exciting both for the city itself and for its football team.

In Kylian Mbappe, PSG officially possess Europe's hottest young player, succeeding the likes of Rooney, Aguero and Pogba in winning FIFA's Golden Boy Award. Interview.

"You work hard all year for this kind of award," the man of the hour told This is Paris. "I see it as a source of motivation to keep on working and to try to achieve more."

Meteoric

After scoring 15 Ligue 1 goals in Monaco's title triumph last term, Mbappé opted to return to his home town in the summer. The teenager needed only an hour on the pitch to open his PSG scoring account, and he continues to impress.

"I felt at home here straight away, he beamed. "It's been really ideal for me to settle in to a new team. Everyone has talked to me, we joke about as if we've known each other for years already. The guys have also looked to protect me, they've really tried to do everything possible to enable me to focus on giving my best on the pitch."

Still just 18 years and 10 months old, Mbappe knows the road to the very top remains long.

"It's a very demanding environment here," he confesssed. "You have to raise your game to the level of those around you. Then you have to maintain that high level, and by doing this I think I am improving naturally. I really think I've progressed since I've been here. This is just the beginning, so hopefully I can keep going now and keep getting better."

Big brother Jr

The PSG striker appears determined to continue his astonishing rise - and he knows he can count on his teammate Neymar Jr for support.

"He's really behaved like a big brother with me," explained Mbappé. "For me it's great to have a player like him with you every day. He's really a great player who is going to help PSG move up another level. We're thrilled to have him. We hope that he feels good here, because then he'll be capable of doing great things."

Crucial Cavani

PSG's attack, however, is very much a trio, with Mbappe and Neymar flanking Edinson Cavani - the hero of last Sunday's Classique. The prolific Uruguayan striker has now contributed nine of PSG's 31 league goals this term.

"Edinson is the perfect teammate for players like myself and Neymar," said an admiring Mbappé. "He is always available, he's very mobile, and he has an amazing shot on him. He's a natural goal-scorer, a true professional and a very good person as well. He's one of the best strikers in the world."

European dream obsession

Four points clear in Ligue 1, PSG are also well placed in their Champions League group, where Mbappé continues to break records. He recently became the first teenager to score eight goals in Europe's elite club competition.

"In the Champions League, I focus on the team performance," said the humble prodigy. "Our aim is to go as far as possible and to win the competition, so I don't pay much attention to the records. I think I've broken quite a few records now, but I'm so focused on winning I don't worry about all these different records. I don't know if that's a good thing or not, but my one real obsession is to win that trophy. That's all that matters to me."
