The Argentine arrived with much fanfare following his 40 million euro move from Palermo in the summer of 2011. His first season at the Parc des Princes was marked by a series of high-quality performances that saw him quickly win a place in the hearts of the fans.

This term, however, Pastore has struggled to make the same impact. The Argentine international has managed just a single goal (against Toulouse in week 5) and four assists so far as the league favourites have struggled to blow away the opposition as many expected them to do following another summer of heavy spending. Pastore's loss in form has been noted by manager Carlo Ancelotti but the Italian feels that the 23-year old is ready to turn the corner. "I'm disappointed by his performances, the player is as well, I think," said the Italian. "He's working hard at the moment and these past few days he's been training twice a day."

The former Chelsea and Milan boss added that Pastore, who scored 13 goals last season in Ligue 1, will "be used" at the Stade de Rey on Saturday evening agasint a Nice side who are unbeaten in four games. PSG can move back to the top of the Ligue 1 table if they win but they need champions Montpellier to do them a favour and take points off Lyon earlier in the day.
