Pastore: 'We can still win title'
Javier Pastore has told 'This is Paris' Paris Saint-Germain still have the destiny of the Ligue 1 title in their hands as they prepare for Sunday's clash with AS Saint-Etienne.
Paris swept to the 2013-14 crown with a record points tally, but have struggled to emulate that form in the current campaign, and come into Week 22 in third place, four points behind leaders Olympique Lyonnais.
Victory at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard on Sunday evening would be a significant boost to the reigning champions' cause, particularly given second-placed Olympique de Marseille's defeat to OGC Nice on Friday.
Despite the difficulties of defending their title, Pastore believes Laurent Blanc's men can still finish top of the pile come May.
"The title is in our hands, it only depends on us. We now have to go out to try and win every match and play well," said the Argentine, who scored in last weekend's victory over Evian-Thonon-Gaillard FC, Paris' first L1 win of the new year.
"We don't have the same attitude as last year, that's true. It's the same players, the same coach, but us, our attitude to come into a game and to want to win, that's what's different."
