Marseille coach Elie Baup praised Joey Barton for his contribution in the win at Brest; PSG coach Carlo Ancelotti vented his anger and pledged to find 'radical solutions' after seeing his side lose for the third time in five matches.

Christian Gourcuff (Lorient coach): "We stifled Toulouse for much of the first half. The second half was more difficult because of the fatigue and our lack of coherence. We should have scored a second goal, which would have allowed us to avoid a tense end to the game, but we just didn't have the legs. (Wesley) Lautoa and (Alaixys) Romao were superb for us, winning the ball back in midfield. We need to maintain the same spirit that we showed here because we can cause problems to any team in Ligue 1 when we win the ball back like that and show that level of intensity. Six points clear of the relegation zone? Things can change quickly but it's good to have the points on the board. If we can produce more performances like that, especially away from home, we will have less to worry about."
Alain Casanova (Toulouse coach): "Lorient deserved their win. There's nothing more to say. Our first half was just too poor defensively. We were too weak, and second best, when it came to winning the ball back, showing commitment, and going into challenges. We gave too many balls away and didn't do enough to cause them problems. It would have been a minor miracle had we gone in at 0-0 at half time. We were better in the second half but it still wasn't enough. There can be no regrets in terms of the result. We still lack a number of things, including maturity, the capacity to take the game to teams. We were simply inferior to Lorient and to what we are capable of doing."
Stade Brestois 29 1-2 Olympique de Marseille
Landry Chauvin (Brest coach): "I'm disappointed for my players who never gave up, but against a side like OM, any error in terms of concentration is costly. We have to recognise Marseille's merits. They're a very experienced side with quality individuals. Despite the loss, I will retain the fact that my players have progressed, because we were far away from producing performances of this level at the start of the season. Marseille are a strong side and they'll be contenders until they end. There was a difference in quality in certain positions but that's normal because we don't compete in the same sphere as them."
Elie Baup (Marseille coach): "We're used to having tough closing minutes in matches. I'd like to salute my players who really fought hard on a tough pitch to keep the three points. I regret our inability to score a third goal but our commitment was formidable. I was waiting for a reaction after the Lyon loss and it was a good reaction. The players were conscious of the situation and we took the three points. When it comes to Barton, we can't talk about him having to cope with a lot of matches in succession because he's been preparing to play for a long time and is fresh compared to the likes of Benoît Cheyrou or Nicolas N'Koulou. Barton brought something to the party, he's up to the rhythm and he contributes the capacity to move forward."
ESTAC Troyes 2-3 Stade Rennais
Jean-Marc Furlan (Troyes coach): "We go from one huge disappointment to another. We led 2-0 against the run of play at the break against a Rennes side that's very good on the road. My Troyes side has quality in its play and talent but lacks experience. Féret's superb goal broke us. At 2-2 we went for the win in naïve fashion and didn't play like a Ligue 1 team. We lacked experience there and threw ourselves forward. They found themselves with men over and scored the third goal that crucified us."
Frédéric Antonetti (Rennes coach): "We went through a lot of emotions in this match. We controlled it for half-an-hour before conceding two goals through mistakes. After that we needed a bit of luck. We got one back quickly. We knew Troyes were vulnerable and we pushed hard. We had Féret on the bench and he scored a great goal. At 2-2, Troyes took a lot of risks and we scored on the counter right at the end. We won't be able to come back from 2-0 down in every away game. It's very tight and in the space of a match you can go to fourth or drop to tenth. We need to keep picking up points and we'll see what happens. I've got a good side, one capable of great things. But my side is also capable of doing stupid things at times."

OGC Nice 2-1 Paris Saint-Germain
Claude Puel (Nice coach) : "It was a beautiful win. We knew that we really needed to dig deep and invest in spirit and teamwork. It was deserved. It was tough to see them equalise with a free kick but our second rewarded our players. You need to me motivated and play a great game when you face PSG. We managed to bring it all together; we knew they would be up for it as they need the points. Since the beginning of the season our play has been good."
Carlo Ancelotti (PSG coach): "We lacked aggression and intensity but most of all the players showed a lack of responsibility. I get the impression that the players are not focussed on the objectives of the club. To only pick up four points in 15 is not normal for a club that wants to win. I don't want to talk about the transfer window. I want the players to understand that this is a serious business and that they must be serious too. We need to find good combinations and we need to find the answers with the players we have. We are not playing for each other and it is just unacceptable to lose three times in five matches. I will find radical solutions with the management. At the moment the whole team annoys me."
Olympique Lyonnais 1-0 Montpellier Hérault SC
Rémi Garde (Lyon coach): "It was a hard win because we controlled things in the first half but were less assured in the second because Montpellier came at us and were more aggressive. As a result it was harder for us to control the match. We expended a lot of energy in Marseille on Wednesday but still we were dangerous on the counter and that is good to see. We are top but, once again, the season doesn't end on Sunday."
René Girard (Montpellier coach): "We played for 45 minutes. We didn't feature in the first half. In the second half we tried to move them around, we maybe missed some opportunities but the second half was way better than the first. We saw they were getting tired and we were more aggressive and consistent. But it wasn't enough, they scored first and it wasn't easy to get one back and get a result. There are always regrets when you lose, I think we could have got something out of the game but OL are a good team and are hotter than we are at the moment."
Girondins de Bordeaux 2-2 FC Sochaux-Montbéliard
Francis Gillot (Bordeaux coach) : "It is a shame as we played really well. What strikes me is that they didn't have any chances to score and scored twice. That is now three or four games now where we have missed the chance to win. We need to take our chances, Regarding the match itself; It is two points dropped that's for certain."
Eric Hély (Sochaux coach): "I am happy as the whole team has been rewarded. They had chances to land the killer blow but didn't and the game was up for grabs. At 2-1 or 3-1 we had nothing to lose. We got the point and that will do us good. When he cam on Dias seized the ball. His strong suit is free kicks and the distance suited him perfectly."
LOSC Lille 0-0 SC Bastia
Rudi Garcia (Lille coach) : "There wasn't a lot of rhythm, no cutting edge, no-one stood up to be counted to help us create chances, the first half was poor. We should have been able to win the game in the second half but we didn't ask enough questions. 15 shots and just one on target, it isn't good enough to score. At half time I thought the whistles were justified and their keeper had had an easy night."
Frédéric Hantz (Bastia coach): "We are pretty satisfied especially when you consider the means of each team and the differences between our two teams and clubs in general. It is a draw that has a whiff of a win about it, we couldn't have hoped for much better. I don't even know if we had a shot. We played a great defensive game."
Evian TG FC 1-1 AS Nancy Lorraine
Pascal Dupraz (Evian-Thonon-Gaillard coach): "We got a point tonight. With a bit of luck Nancy should have won. You need to recognise they were better on the night. But we are happy, that is now four games undefeated., we have taken eight from 12 possible points, so we need to stay positive."
Jean Fernandez (Nancy coach): "We deserved better. We should have left with the three points; we had chances to win but lacked that little bit in front of goal. The tally from the last three games has been negative even if we haven't lost them all. I am frustrated because I think we have the wherewithal to do better, like during the last two games. There is still hope, there are four games to go before the break and we will take stock after them."
Valenciennes FC 1-0 Stade de Reims
Daniel Sanchez (Valenciennes coach): "I am happy with the result. It was a bit laborious, the game was poor and lacked inspiration. We started well and scored quickly. Did we think it would be easy? I don't know but if we did, it was a big mistake. Reims, as predicted, showed they can play a bit."
Hubert Fournier (Reims coach): "We all know that in top level sport you need to score to win matches. We lacked this basic requirement. It is frustrating because we did everything else. The spirit was good, we leave with nothing but hopes are still high."

AC Ajaccio 0 - 0 AS Saint-Etienne
Alex Dupont (Ajaccio coach): "It wasn't an easy game against a team which is in top form at the moment. We started well by pressing them high up the pitch. We created some chances but couldn't convert which was a shame. Sammaritano had a brilliant chance, a "match point" at the end of the game. It could have been a perfect outcome because the players were responsive. We earned a point and stopped our bad run at home so it is not all bad."
Christophe Galtier (Saint-Etienne coach): "No disrespecting Ajaccio but we came here to win the game. We were good in the first half but lacked that extra spark to be more dangerous, especially in the final third. We tried to score but were unable to do so in the first hour. The last 30 minutes were tricky and we had to be content with defending. But it is a good point to have won. We have had a good week with a win against Valenciennes, beating PSG in the Coupe de la Ligue and this draw. Now we have ten days to prepare for the derby [against Lyon]."
