Olympique de Marseille have been dealt a major blow after Loïc Rémy was ruled out for three weeks with a hamstring injury, while OM's weekend opponents, Valenciennes FC, will be without key forward Grégory Pujol when the pair meet on Saturday.

French international forward Rémy, who has nine league strikes this season, sustained the problem in his team's 3-1 French Cup win over amateur side Bourg-Péronnas on Wednesday. The 25-year-old had to be replaced at half-time, and a scan on Thursday revealed the full extent of the injury.

Rémy will miss not only this weekend's game at home to Valenciennes, but also OM's following two Ligue 1 encounters with Stade Brestois 29 and Evian TG FC as well as their Champions League last 16 first-leg tie with Inter Milan and France's friendly in Germany.

Pujol will also not feature at the Stade Vélodrome this weekend with a hamstring injury of his own. The ex-Nantes striker, who found the net 17 times last season, was only able to do light training this week, and is not sufficiently fit to lead the line.
