Dijon FCO were a minute from making it six home wins on the bounce, against bottom club FC Metz, but Nolan Roux struck late (89') to cancel out Júlio Tavares' first-minute strike.

 Dijon FCO 1-1 FC Metz

THE MATCH
Dijon had won each of their previous five home matches and they got off to an electric start at the Stade Gaston Gérard, with Júlio Tavares jinking past Moussa Niakhate before firing into the corner of Eiji Kawashima's net (1'). At the other end, Ibrahima Niane had a gilt-edged chance to restore parity, but he fluffed his lines with Baptiste Reynet's goal lying empty, allowing Valentin Rosier to race back and clear (8'). After their early exertions both sides seemed happy to sit back for most of the rest of the first-half, save for a long-range Mehdi Abeid strike that Kawashima was positioned well enough for to keep out (36').

Rosier put a delicious cross in for Frédéric Samaritano just past the hour, but the midfielder's acrobatic volley was pushed away by Kawashima (61'). Metz recovered in the final half, hour though, and after Mathieu Dossevi forced a low save from Reynet (81'), there was an air of inevitability about Metz's leveller, with roux capitalising upon a rare Florent Balmont mistake to steer the equaliser just inside Reynet's post for 1-1 (89'). Dijon's frustration then spilled over in injury time, with Papy Djilobodji sent off for a two-footed challenge on Roux (90+3').

THE PLAYER: Eiji Kawashima
The headlines might belong to Roux, but Metz were only in a position to salvage a draw at all thanks to Kawashima's heroics at the other end. Kawashima will go to the World Cup in Russia as Japan's No1. At 34, he shows little sign of slowing down.

THE STAT: 6
Dijon dropped points at their Stade Gaston Gérard for the first time in six games. The last time Olivier Dall'Oglio's men failed to pick up all three points in front of their home support was in October, when they were edged 2-1 by Ligue 1 Conforama leaders Paris Saint-Germain in Week 9.
