Saïd and done

In-form Wesley Saïd scored twice as Djon thrashed LOSC 3-0 with all the goals netted in the first half.

Dijon FCO  3-0  LOSC

Banned from signing players in January, LOSC's week got worse as they capitulated to an inspired Dijon side. The damage began in the 12th minute when Edgar Ié misjudged a Mehdi Abeid cross and Saïd produced a great left-footed volley that flew past Mike Maignan.

Five minutes later the former Rennes man was at it again as LOSC's defence switched off when Romain Amalfitano took a quick free-kick and Saïd scored from 20 metres out despite Maignan getting something on the ball.

Dijon had a chance to add to their lead through Amalfitano and then Baptiste Reynet had to save well from LOSC midfielder Thiago Mendes. LOSC were out of it 10 minutes before half-time when Frédéric Sammaritano befuddled the visiting defence and then saw his cross spilled by Maignan. Fodé Ballo-Touré couldn't help himself from turning the ball into his own net.

LOSC had also lost their skipper Ibrahim Amadou to injury to make things worse. After the break Joao Sacramento switched to 4-2-3-1 from 4-4-2 but it made little difference as the northern club stayed in the bottom three.

THE PLAYER: Wesley Saïd

Saïd has now been involved in six of Dijon's last 10 goals, scoring four of them and contributing two assists. In his 77 minutes on the field he led LOSC a merry dance.

This was only Dijon's second clean sheet of the season, following on from their 1-0 success against Nantes at the end of October.
