Saint-Etienne - Lorient frozen out
04/02/2012
Lorient's Week 22 visit to Saint-Etienne was abandoned after just ten minutes on Saturday afternoon, glacial temperatures at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard forcing the referee to call a halt to the match and postpone it until a later date.
The match had already had its kick-off time brought forward to 15:00 CET (from 19:00) as the LFP did its best to adapt to the sub-zero temperatures and have all the weekend's matches go ahead as planned, but with one half of the pitch in an unplayable condition, referee Benoît Bastien called a halt to proceedings.
To be determined
With predicted weather conditions not permitting the LFP to have the match played on Sunday afternoon, the match has been postponed until a date to be set by the LFP's Competitions Commission in due course.
