Statattack Week 25: Payet on fire
Dimitri Payet is leading the charge as Lille return to form; OL's win in Bordeaux saw Clément Grenier bag his first double; and Sochaux's shock defeat of PSG maintained their strong home form against the league's top teams.
Key statistic for Week 24:
11: Dimitri Payet's goal in Lille's 2-0 win over Rennes on Friday confirmed the former Saint-Etienne man's glittering form: Payet has been involved in 11 of the 16 goals Les Dogues have scored in their last ten Ligue 1 matches. The France international has scored five goals and provided six assists since Week 16. His goal against Rennes was his eighth of the season and helped his team to stretch its unbeaten run at home to Rennes to 26 matches (17 wins, nine draws). The Brittany side hasn't won in Lille in almost 47 years, the last a 3-1 victory dating back to May 14, 1966.
4th: Rod Fanni's late winner for OM against Valenciennes was the Meditarranean club's fourth injury-time strike of the season. Only Brest have scored more after regulation time, with six. Like the Bretons, OM have secured six points in the dying minutes of matches, a number accounting for 13 per cent of their points tally of 46.
3rd: OL's 4-0 demonstration in Bordeaux was the club's third win in their last four away games, but the first time they had won on the road by a four-goal margin since February 21, 2010, and a 4-0 win in Sochaux.
3rd: Sochaux's shock win over PSG was the third time this season that Les Lionceaux have avoided defeat against one of the sides currently in the top three. After holding OL to a 1-1 in Week 12 and beating OM 3-1 in Week 20, Eric Hély's men dug deep to best the title favourites from the capital 3-2.
1st: OL's win in Bordeaux saw youth academy graduate Clément Grenier score his first Ligue 1 double. The young midfielder converted both his chances into goals against Bordeaux and has now scored two of his total three Ligue 1 goals for the season with assists from Bafétimbi Gomis.
10th: Eden Ben Basat scored his tenth of the season in Toulouse's 2-2 draw with Troyes, but it was his first for the TFC after his January move from Brest. The Israeli has now scored in each of his three matches against Troyes this season (two with Brest in Weeks 4 and 22).
6th: In the 1-0 win over Nancy on Saturday, Montpellier's Argentine striker Emanuel Herrera scored his sixth Ligue 1 goal of the season - all of which he has converted from inside the penalty area. Saturday's strike was unusual, however, in that he scored it with his head.
