Statattack Week 27: Saint-Etienne invincible in 2013

Ligue 1 Conforama

ASSE make it 20 goals this year after cruising past Nice; Stade de la Mosson remains a fortress with Montpellier beating Rennes; and Krychowiak the hero as Reims shock leaders PSG.

Key statistic for Week 27:

20: After Saturday's 4-0 win over OGC Nice, AS Saint-Etienne have now scored 20 goals since the beginning of 2013. No team has scored more this year. With six wins and two draws since January, it is also their best start to the second half of a season in 20 years. In 1993, ASSE were undefeated in their first 10 games after the winter break. Having conceded just five goals so far in 2013, Christophe Galtier's side also boast the league's joint most watertight defence with PSG. 13 of Saint-Etienne's 20 goals have been scored by Brandão (six) and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (seven), making them the most prolific attackers this year.

Team performances:

12th: Montpellier-Hérault SC's 2-0 win over Stade Rennais on Friday was the 12th consecutive game in which René Girard's team have scored at least one goal. That's their longest streak in Ligue 1 history, and also equalled Montpellier's longest winning streak at home (eight).

4th: LOSC Lille beat Girondins de Bordeaux 2-1 on Sunday to chalk up their fourth consecutive victory. That's LOSC's longest run of wins this season. Ronny Rodelin's thumping volley from the edge of the box on the hour gave him his first Ligue 1 goal, before Salomon Kalou scored a predatory close range attempt to cancel out Jaroslav Plasil's rather fortunate opening penalty. It's the first time Lille have come from behind to win this campaign.

6th: Stade de Reims got their sixth win of the season when they shocked leaders Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 at home on Saturday.  It was Reims' ever first victory against a team at the top of the table. Last season's Ligue 2 runners up also tested Salvatore Sirigu's goal 16 times, for their second highest shot count at their Stade Auguste Delaune.

Individual performances:

7th: Souleymane Camara's goal for Montpellier against Rennes to was the second in the 2-0 win at the Stade de la Mosson.  There was some controversy surrounding Hilton's opener for an alleged foul on Rennes goalkeeper Benoît Costil, but there was no doubting Camara's strike from outside the box ten minutes later.  The Senegalese hit man with his seventh goal of the season, six of which have been scored at home.

1st: AS Nancy-Lorraine youngster Florian Zitte scored his first Ligue 1 goal in helping win 2-1 at FC Sochaux-Montbéliard. The 19-year-old was restricted to just two shots on goal in what was his first start for the club, but that was all he needed to slot past home goalkeeper Simon Pouplin five minutes before half-time, after a stunning through ball from Djamel Bakar.

2nd: Leaders PSG were dealt the upset of the weekend when they were beaten 1-0 by Reims. Grzegorz Krychowiak got the goal just past the hour mark, ghosting in unmarked at the back post after Diego Rigonato's deflected corner. It was the Polish defensive midfielder's second Ligue 1 goal of the season. He also completed the most passes (77) and won the most tackles (22) in an outstanding performance.
