Paris Saint-Germain coach Carlo Ancelotti hailed his players' "fantastic reaction" in grabbing a draw against Montpellier Hérault SC to preserve their hold on top spot while René Girard was left "frustrated" by the 2-2 draw at the Parc des Princes.

FC Lorient 0 - 1 LOSC Lille Métropole

Christian Gourcuff (Lorient coach):
"We were dominated. We tried to play counter-attacking football in the first half and had a few chances but their pressing game was very effective. There was a big gap in terms of technical ability. And our inability to stand up to them was a little worrying. You couldn't argue with Lille's win, when they upped the intensity we found it hard to cope and mentally I think we were found wanting too. But, I will be able to sleep tonight though we can't fool ourselves, we are playing for survival and we need to remember that."

Nolan Roux (Lille striker): "It was important to secure the three points and this win bodes well for the next game against Sochaux where we will look to continue our good away record with another win. The guys are really happy because a lot has been said about that so-called slap by Bordeaux [5-4 defeat]. We were solid, we scored and we have corrected our defensive errors, it was a good night."

 Dijon FCO 3 - 0 OGC Nice

Patrice Carteron (Dijon coach): "It was a stunning win. I am happy for my players, we expected Nice to come at us from the off and we were able to break their rythm. I am also happy that we were able to give the fans something to shout about; without them playing at home would not be the same."

René Marsiglia (Nice coach): "It was a very tough night and one which we weren't expecting. We were punished, we were given a big reality check. In the first half we had the better of the play but we were then caught out by their goal when we were enjoying our best spell. That was a kick in the teeth, it was all really disappointing and a bit of a non-match for us."

  AC Ajaccio 0 - 0 Stade Brestois 29

Olivier Pantaloni (Ajaccio coach): "It was a tough game against a side who came here to draw. We started well but couldn't build on it though in the second half I though we dominated. I thought the penalty would be enough for us to win, unfortunately their keeper was up to the task. We have dropped four points in our last two games at home but moral is still high ahead of the Dijon game next week."

Alex Dupont (Brest coach): "Our first aim was not to concede and the boys were solid from the beginning to the end. We came up a bit short in attack and I would have liked a bit more but this point will do us good. I have to congratulate Steeve Elana who ensured the draw with that save five minutes from the end, the draw was the right result."

AS Nancy Lorraine 0-3 Toulouse FC

Jean Fernandez (Nancy coach):
"There isn't much to say. We were up against an excellent Toulouse side and they deserved their win. There was a chasm between the teams, we couldn't get into the game at all and the first 20 minutes were very tough. We know that when they lead they are hard to reel in but at 2-0 it was mission impossible."

Alain Casanova (Toulouse coach): "We made a great start to the game and quickly got on top leading 2-0, we showed good control and determination. We showed them that we meant business. Since the start of the year we have not got the results we would have wanted. We have reset the clock but need to be aware that this is the standard we need to maintain. We know that when we lack confidence we are vulnerable. Conversely, when we are feeling good we are strong and confident and that allows us to play."

Caen SM 2 - 2 Evian TG FC

Franck Dumas (Caen coach): "I am happy with the game even if the result is disappointing. We didn't take advantage and should have been able to kill off the match in the first half. But I doff my cap to Evian who kept going right up until the end."

Pablo Correa (Evian coach):
"It was almost a win and I was happy with the effort put in. We had as many errors as good points but we plugged away. There is much to correct and if we are more disciplined it will become easier. They had too many chances. We came here to win but lacked the control to do that still we have put an end to a run of defeats away from home.

 FC Sochaux-Montbéliard 0 - 0 AJ Auxerre

Mecha Bazdarevic (Sochaux coach): "We have to stay positive. Unfortunately, we need points, and we have to score goals. We're going to keep on working, and try to do something against Lille on Wednesday. We didn't concede, but it's a real shame we didn't score as we created some well-constructed chances. We have to persevere. We can't bring anyone in, that's finished. We've got to do it with what we've got."

Laurent Fournier (Auxerre coach): "You can't ask too much of the players in terms of attacking right now. You can't ask them to play like the top nine teams in the league. It's a good result for us. We came to Sochaux to defend, and to try and counter-attack. For the moment, it's working, and I saw my players show a real desire to get themselves out of trouble."

Olympique de Marseille 1 - 1 Valenciennes FC

Didier Deschamps (Marseille coach):  I am disappointed with the result given all the chances we had. We hit the bar and the post and I think that Valenciennes were fortunate. They scored from a free kick, which was kind of messy. We had a good first half but couldn't take advantage and get a second goal so  these two points dropped is hard to take. In the past we have scraped some draws but tonight we had what it took to win. We wanted to win, we played well in parts and we owed it to ourselves to win. Unfortunately it wasn't the case, from Sunday I will start thinking about the Inter Milan game but from what I saw [tonight] we should have won this game"

Daniel Sanchez (Valenciennes coach): "A draw, for us, is a good result, we were very good defensively. The second half was better than the first when we defended well but were a little timid with the ball. OM are a very complete team from back to front and of course they have this game against Inter Milan coming up but I still think they wanted to win this evening. Most of our rivals in the bottom half of the table won't take many points off Marseille so come the end of the season this will be an important result.

Logo Paris Saint-Germain Paris Saint-Germain 2 - 2 Montpellier Hérault SC

Carlo Ancelotti (Paris Saint-Germain coach): "It's a good result, because it was a difficult, balanced match. The result is fair. We had some problems in bringing the ball out and in getting it back, but the players worked well and their reaction was good after Montpellier's second goal. We didn't want to lose this match, and their reaction was fantastic. We have to work to improve. That's normal, because I changed the way we play, and it's still not something natural for the players. We have to continue working and, with confidence, get results."

René Girard (Montpellier coach): "I wouldn't say I'm disappointed, but frustrated. If there was a team that deserved to win the game, then it was us. I'm proud of my players. It wasn't an easy game - there was a lot of pressure, and the crowd were up for it. It was a big match, and the players went out there with pride. It's a shame that we lost the ball, and that led to the second goal, but I'm happy."

 AS Saint-Etienne 4 - 0 Stade Rennais FC

Christophe Galtier (Saint-Etienne coach): "It wasn't easy against a quality opponent, but we knew how to handle things to get such a result. In each area of the pitch, I saw a team that was willing, generous, respected our plan and did what we had to do against such an opponent. We're not in the race for a place in the top three, though. We're going to get our feet back on the ground quickly. The big teams aren't far ahead of us, but they're the big teams. We're not a big team. We're aware of where we've come from. We're trying simply to improve. We're on a positive run, and it's when things are going like that that you're most vulnerable. We're going to calm everyone down, not the supporters, because I'm happy for them, but rather the people close to the team."

Frédéric Antonetti (Rennes coach): "I think that up until the second goal, the game was in the balance or perhaps even going in our favour. But we went to pieces after that second goal. Certain defeats can do you good. We're going to look at it together and put right certain things. When you concede goals from set-pieces every time, someone has to step up and take responsibility. We gave them every opportunity to exploit counter-attacks. There were some interesting things, but we were very fragile, and it wasn't only the defence. We didn't take full advantage of the chances we had or the good things we did even though we were practically never in danger in the first half."

Girondins de Bordeaux 1 - 0 Olympique Lyonnais

Francis Gillot (Bordeaux coach): "We'll see how things go, but for the minute we're not doing too badly. We found it tough to get started, but we didn't steal the points. Defensively, we were very, very good. It's not easy to not give Lyon a chance. In terms of winning the ball back, I thought the boys were more hungry than they looked at the start of the season. We're still waiting for confirmation, but in the short term, the two wins do us a lot of good. Are we capable of keeping up that sort of effort in the remaining three months? Good runs end. But even if our next game is against Montpellier, there are a lot of games left in which we can take points."

Rémi Garde (Lyon coach): "All defeats are dirty, ugly and hard to take. So is this one. Given the way the match went, we perhaps didn't deserve to win, but I'm not sure we deserved to lose. It makes things more difficult, but the season is far from over. We still have some great things to play for. Of course, losing at home to Caen and again against Bordeaux, it's difficult, but anyway, the league is difficult. We have the Coupe de la Ligue final to play, a quarter-final in the French Cup and a last 16 return leg in the Champions League. The end of the season will be tough. We have to find a creative spark and some energy."
