SC Bastia 1 - 1 SM Caen
Ghislain Printant (Bastia coach): "I am not satisfied. Our goal was to win our last home game for our fans, our owners and for the boys playing. We tried, but we did not put in the correct ingredients. We had to use possession better. Our opponents left some spaces but we were not efficient. Caen played for a draw and got it. Well done to them. We did not fear our opponent, and we dominated a lot. We did not quite find the target, and we showed some poor finishing."
Patrice Garande (Caen coach): "We are very pleased to have stayed up after a poor first half of the season. We survived without depending on other results. It was not a great match but everyone was psychologically and physically tired. I am very happy for the club, it's positive. We deserve to stay in Ligue 1, as do Bastia. There is no mystery to this. These are two groups who believed in themselves and took the necessary steps to stay up."
Evian TG FC 1 - 2 AS Saint-Etienne
Pascal Dupraz (Evian coach): "My feeling has moved from disappointment to sadness. I feel like a failure. I accepted my mission when I took the job, and in my time here we have lived some very good moments. Unfortunately, we cannot participate in a fifth consecutive season in Ligue 1. I want to sincerely thank my players. In addition to being good players, they are beautiful people. I also thank my staff who were loyal as well as competent, the medical staff, the administrative staff… many of them are crying tonight. Finally, I say thank you to our fans who respected our players when they did a lap of honour. I loved this exemplary attitude. They showed that ETG is a real club. It is a young club but a real club."
Christophe Galtier (Saint-Etienne coach): "I see a lot of unhappy people on Evian's side and that is why we withheld our celebrations. Our goal is to finish fourth. We had to win. But right now, we have to show restraint. I saw some very sad faces. It has been a hard season, at the top and the bottom of the table. Now we have to beat Guingamp next Saturday and believe in Lorient's ability to win against Monaco. Marseille are too far away. So Lorient friends, I look at you, I smile at you."
EA Guingamp 2 -1 Toulouse FC
Jocelyn Gourvennec (Guingamp coach): "It was a great evening, beautiful. There was a wonderful atmosphere. This match sums up our season. It was a difficult game but we came out on top because of a burst of energy and a great mind-set. We can still aim for ninth place. If we finish ninth, tenth, 11th, it is an amazing record anyway. We just played our 53rd game. It's been a thrilling season."
Dominique Arribagé (Toulouse coach): "We need to improve for next season, but we already have a big base of good players here. I think that if we make three or four reinforcements for next season then that will suffice."
LOSC Lille 0 - 4 Olympique de Marseille
René Girard (Lille coach): "There is not much to say. We came up against a team much more motivated than us. We were very average. It is necessary that the season ends quickly. We are not happy to concede four at home, it hurts. We did nothing that we set out to do. Today, we did not have the resources to do better even if we improved in the second half. At full-time it is important the fans applauded the players. If the hiss at me it is not a problem. This season has not been great, but I have to take it on the chin. I think it will settle down in the next week."
Marcelo Bielsa (Marseille coach): "It was a clear victory and well deserved. Even when Lille pushed to reduce the score, we managed to defend our goal. This is one of our best games of the season, almost all of the players played at a very good level, the attack was effective and the defence strong. Finishing third depends on one more game, but we still have hope. Third has been within our grasp all season so we will be very disappointed if we don't manage it. First we will try to win and then look at the other results. One should not underestimate Bastia. I have not received any offer regarding my future. It seems normal that the club would wait until the end of the season before deciding what path they should take. Given the presence of PSG this has been a fair season for us."
Olympique Lyonnais 1-1 Girondins de Bordeaux
Hubert Fournier (Lyon coach): "This result allows us to mathematically secure second place. It is good to have done this by ourselves. We would have liked to win this game to make the celebration even more beautiful but it has been a gruelling end of season for my boys. We were missing a few things tonight but we can be satisfied with the result. It's a pretty amazing season when you think that at the end of August, we were 17th in the table. It means that we have worked hard."
Willy Sagnol (Bordeaux coach): "I think referees need help. I am disappointed with this result and with some of the decisions in it, but I think there is too much pressure on the referees."
AS Monaco 2-0 FC Metz
Leonardo Jardim (Monaco coach): "We had a lot of chances and deserved to win. There is always pressure in Monaco. We had a good 20 minutes before half-time. Then, the team raised its tempo. (Bernardo) Silva has progressed a lot. That is important for both him and the team. I think Marseille and Saint-Etienne will make it hard for us to finish third, but we need to do our job and hold onto our position. It's true that playing on a synthetic pitch in Lorient will be difficult. We have a two point advantage though. We do not need to think about other teams. We need to win. I do think we will have the most difficult match. Saint Etienne can score a lot of goals at home."
Albert Cartier (Metz coach): "I think we did well and caused Monaco problems. We created some really good chances. Compared to our last performance (a 2-0 win at home to Lyon) we were too generous. We gave up possession too cheaply. Monaco might finish third. Matches like this help us learn. Monaco have good players and I wish them well for the end of the season."
Montpellier Hérault SC 1 - 2 Paris Saint-Germain
Rolland Courbis (Montpellier coach): "We will not have the satisfaction of overtaking Bordeaux. Still, finishing seventh is a decent finish. I think we can do much better than we did in the first 20 minutes, where we missed our chances. Paris won a match they did not need to win. Lyon dropped points in the early part of the season. The teams PSG manage to put out even with injuries are incredible. Even with their money it is not easy what they have achieved, and you have to tip your hat to them."
Laurent Blanc (PSG coach): "Winning a third consecutive league title gives us a lot of joy. It was difficult to achieve this. Many in the press have been negative but we still took big points throughout the season and that made the difference. I predicted and hoped PSG would be champions, and we are. Criticism doesn't not make the title any sweeter. We had adversity in the first half of the season for various reasons. I always had confidence in the group of players I had though. I want to thank my staff. They worked hard. I cannot tell you if this is the beginning of a dynasty like Lyon's in the early 2000s, but I can say that we are not stopping here. We want to continue to progress and improve, whether that's players, staff, or managers. We well assess the season once it is over. We still have the Coupe de France final against Auxerre. The way we played at the start of this year after our break in Marrakech was crucial. To be technically proficient you need to be fit. I am learning all the time."
FC Nantes 1 - 1 FC Lorient
Sylvain Ripoll (Lorient coach): "We are satisfied because we weathered the storm tonight. Sometimes the boat lurched but we made sure we got back to the port of Ligue 1 and I think that's the most important thing. I did not think we would get shipwrecked, but it blew very hard sometimes. We stayed united and I think this is the triumph of the whole group, the whole club, a city that has supported us, who stayed behind us. That group had an exceptional state of mind, because I sincerely think it was a difficult season. Now I hope this last game at home against Monaco allows us to finish well. They will be a tough opponent but we will try to rise to the challenge."
Michel Der Zakarian (Nantes coach): "We had four clear chances, but this result is a reflection of our season. It's been hard to score goals. We were not able to score, basically. When they had a chance they scored. It's a shame because we could have won but we weren't able to. We got in behind their defence but we lacked a cutting edge. However, we have had a good season, even if it was complicated in January and February."
OGC Nice 2 - 1 RC Lens
Claude Puel (Nice coach): "It was important to win. I never checked the Evian result (2-1 loss to Saint-Etienne) until after our game. I assume that we must have the answers regardless of the situation. It was not easy but we had determination this season. We had a few hiccups but also some huge games against the top teams. It has been up and down, but not quite as down as you might suggest."
Antoine Kombouaré (Lens coach): "I am very happy. Not simply because I deeply love this club, but because it is such a strong club. The champions are the most consistent. It's not like in the cups where sometimes there are surprises. I think that PSG will continue to widen the gap. PSG will continue to finish first, and the others will fight for second and third place."
Stade de Reims 1 - 0 Stade Rennais FC
Olivier Guégan (Reims coach): "The pressure was on us so we are very happy with this victory. My players did well in adversity. We really savour staying up this season because it was a complicated season. My personal satisfaction is that the players were already in place, playing a different system under the previous manager (Jean-Luc Vasseur) and they adapted. This group has character, but also quality. We have 44 points, but if we can scrape a win in Paris..."
Philippe Montanier (Rennes coach): "We played pretty well but lost because of an unfortunate handball (from Mexer) giving the penalty. After that we dominated proceedings and but failed in the final third. It is disappointing. Now for the final game (at Lyon). The aim will be to be sharper offensively, to end the season on a high."
