The Athens-based club are reportedly preparing to table an improved offer for the 29-year-old, who has missed just a single league game for Frédéric Antonetti's side this season.
Nice, however, are determined the former Strasbourg defender - whose current contract expires in June - will be staying put to help the club's bid for a top-five finish.
"We don't want to let him go," said Nice sporting director Roger Ricort. "Whatever the offer - be it €4m or €5m - we will not change our minds.
"Kanté is an important player for us, and we're planning to start talks with him very soon with a view to him staying with us."
