 Paris Saint-Germain / OGC Nice : 0 - 1

The hosts were looking to pick up from where they left off at Sochaux last weekend, with lone striker Mevlut Erding supported by Stéphane Sessegnon playing in his favoured central position, and Ludovic Giuly and Peguy Luyindula providing menace from the wings.

Early domination

They commanded possession almost from the off, and Clément Chantôme should have done better than head straight at David Ospina when unmarked.

A well-organised Nice side were restricting Paris to few clear chances. Meanwhile, Grégory Coupet, so often to the fore for Paris this season, had to be alert to save from a superb Rémy strike from distance just after the half-hour.

A post and two crossbars for PSG!

After pouncing on a loose ball and skipping past Sammy Traoré, Mamadou Bagayoko found himself clean through on goal, only to hesitate and let a golden chance to open the scoring go begging, as the first period ended goalless.

Shortly after the restart, Erding hit the post with the goal at his mercy following a superb combination between Giuly and Christophe Jallet. Giuly and Sessegnon then crashed efforts goalwards that beat Ospina, but not the crossbar, as Didier Ollé-Nicolle's men rode their luck at the Parc des Princes.

Sucker punch

Nice had created next to nothing in the second-half. Nevertheless, with the game seemingly heading for a goalless draw, there was a certain sense of inevitability about the goal that decided the game in their favour with barely two minutes remaining.

A wasted Sessegnon free-kick was pounced upon by the visitors, who broke suddenly. Mounier collected the ball on the left, and had all the time in the world to cross for Rémy, who headed past Coupet at the back post.

A fourth win in five games for the south coast side propels them above PSG in the table. Meanwhile, Paris find themselves in danger of losing touch altogether with the leading light in Ligue 1.
