Former PSG defender Gabriel Heinze's goal gave Marseille a 1-0 win over Erding and his team-mates at the Stade Vélodrome last Friday, but with PSG languishing in the lower half of the table and the in-form league leaders set to arrive at the Parc des Princes, the Turkish international insists it is more than time to turn the page.
"We're disappointed because it was a big game. It was a match we really wanted to win. We started very poorly and, personally, I was very upset because I was mentally well-prepared for the game, but there's no point crying over spilt milk," said the 22-year-old summer signing from Sochaux.
"We're playing on Saturday against Auxerre and we'll be doing everything we can to get the three points. We're going to work hard this week because we're obliged to win."
'Show we're better'
Erding's arrival in the last transfer window was expected to give PSG the momentum they would need to push for a top-three finish this season.
However, despite scoring three league goals, injuries have hampered the powerful forward's contribution, and meant Antoine Kombouaré's men head into Week 15 in 13th place, nine points off the Ligue 1 podium and a further point adrift of this weekend's opponents. Erding acknowledged that the table does not lie.
"If Auxerre are top of the table it's because they're a good team. There's no place for luck or the arbitrary in football. Auxerre are leading the league and it will be up to us, at home and with the help of our fans, to win the game. We are Paris Saint-Germain and we need to show out there on the pitch that we have the desire to win this game," he said.
"We need to show that we want to score goals and do everything to avoid conceding them. In Saturday's match, the difference will be who wants it the most. The team that wants it more will win it. We need to show that we are better than them and are more motivated."
