Club medical staff had feared the worst when Diarra was forced off the field on Saturday night but further examination on Monday morning revealed that the France midfielder is suffering only a slight lesion in his left thigh.

While the exact duration of his absence has not yet been communicated by the club, Diarra should be back in action sooner rather than later as Bordeaux continue a frenetic schedule in their quest to conquer Ligue 1, the French Cup, the League Cup and the Champions League.
