Laurent Blanc (Paris Saint-Germain coach): "We have many reasons to be satisfied. We created a lot of favourable situations, we scored twice and we almost completely controlled the match while allowing our opponents almost nothing. It was a good afternoon for us. You always have to keep trying to make progress, and the desire I saw from my players today pleased me very much. Collectively, we stuck together and played quite high up the pitch, which is great because I want us to impose our game on our opponents."
Hubert Fournier (Olympique Lyonnais coach): "We were up against a better side, and the gulf between us was too big for us to have any hopes of winning this trophy. We have a lot of work left to do before we could imagine worrying Paris Saint-Germain at this stage of the season. We didn't have the technical weapons, we conceded two goals too quickly and then going a man down on the hour-mark made things even tougher for us. There's a difference real difference between the kind of play we could produce last season and what we were capable of tonight. It's pretty worrying to show a face like we did today, or like we did last Saturday at the Emirates (a 6-0 loss to Arsenal). We were lacking in many areas. Today we conceded two goals, but it could have been much worse. Lots of ingredients were missing."
