Stade Brestois will travel to face Toulouse FC at the Stadium de Toulouse on Sunday night while watching the scoreboard as they look to secure an automatic UEFA Champions League spot for next season.

Brest are currently in fourth place and tied on 58 points with LOSC Lille, but Les Dogues hold the tiebreaker advantage in goal differential. Éric Roy and his team would have to go through the Champions League qualification round to reach the competition if they remain in fourth place.

The simplest way for Les Pirates to avoid the qualifying stage will be to defeat Toulouse and have Lille either draw or lose to OGC Nice. If both teams were to draw, lose, or win, then the goal differential would be the first tiebreaker to determine who finishes in third and fourth place.

Brest enter their final match of the season against Toulouse in challenging form, with only one win in their last five league matches (two draws and two losses).

On the other sideLes Violets have three wins, including an impressive road win over Paris Saint-Germain last weekend, in their last five league matches (one draw and one loss). A win over Brest and a Stade de Reims loss would allow Toulouse to finish in tenth place this season.

Carles Martínez Novell and his team could also look to player spoilers again. Last weekend, Toulouse defeated PSG in what was Kylian Mbappé's last game at the Parc des Princes as a player for the Parisians.

The Spanish tactician will motivate his men to ruin Brest's automatic Champions League aspirations for next season and end this campaign on a positive note

Sunday is shaping up to be an exciting matchday as we eagerly await to see which team and their fans will start plotting their journey towards Europe's premier club competition.
