After coming up through the Olympique Lyonnais youth academy, Nabil Fekir joined the senior team and played six seasons in Ligue 1 Uber Eats, leaving no-one in doubt of the phenomenal quality in his left boot and the deceptive force of his movement when he signed for Real Betis in the summer of 2019.

Captain and playmaker for Les Gones, the France international played 145 league matches for OL, scoring 54 goals and delivering 27 assists to all of Lyon's great strikers of recent seasons: Alexandre Lacazette, Memphis Depay, Moussa Dembélé and Mariano Diaz.


A record 18-goal haul

"He's a player with interesting technical skills. He has a speed of execution in small spaces, which is especially important. There's still a lot of work for him, confirmations to come, but he's a player with interesting abilities," said Fekir's coach Rémi Garde after the youngster hit his first Ligue 1 Uber Eats goal against Bastia in April 2014.

Although he played 11 Ligue 1 Conforama matches in his first season and celebrated his first goal at Lyon's old home - the Stade de Gerland - against the Corsican club, Nabil Fekir really broke through the following season (2014-15). With 13 goals and nine assists in 34 matches, the youngster was without a doubt the revelation of the season.

After a 2015-16 season ruined by an injury (ACL), in which he nevertheless found time to score the first Ligue 1 Uber Eats hat-trick of his career, the playmaker once again became indispensable to his team-mates. And his 2017-18 season proved to be his most successful individually, with a phenomenal first half of the season including four doubles (13 goals and three assists) to finish with 18 goals and six assists.
