There have been 32 goals in the last six Ligue 1 Uber Eats games between Paris Saint-Germain and Monaco, an average of more than five strikes per 90 minutes — ligue1.com looks at some of the fireworks the pair have produced in recent French top-flight history.
2020/21, Round 11: Monaco 3-2 PSG
Their most recent encounter was yet another belter to add to the long list of thrillers the duo have served up. Former Monaco prodigy Kylian Mbappé had PSG two up at half-time and seemingly cruising to victory. But Kevin Volland's early second-half goal gave the hosts a foothold in the game and he then scored again to level things up. The Germany international was also the player fouled by another ex-Monaco man in the PSG ranks, Abdou Diallo, to earn the penalty that Cesc Fabregas netted to earn the principality outfit one of the most famous comebacks in the fixture.
2019/20, Round 20: PSG 3-3 Monaco
No fewer than five goals came in a frenetic first half in what ended a six-goal thriller at the Parc des Princes. Neymar put PSG ahead just three minutes in, but it only took Monaco ten minutes to go in front thanks to strikes from Gelson Martins and Wissam ben Yedder. A Fodé Ballo-Touré own goal and a Neymar penalty had the hosts back in front by the break, but substitute Islam Slimani, who had only been on the pitch five minutes, levelled the scores 20 minutes from time.
2017/18, Round 33: PSG 7-1 Monaco
Monaco had been crowned Ligue 1 Uber Eats champions the previous season and headed to the Parc des Princes in second place in the table and — though they were 14 points behind their hosts — still with a mathematical chance of retaining their crown. Ninety minutes later, it was gone, and how, as PSG wrapped up a seventh top-flight title in incredible style. Giovani Lo Celso scored twice and Angel Di Maria and Edinson Cavani also found the net to put PSG 4-0 up inside 27 minutes. Rony Lopes pulled one back before half-time, but goals from Di Maria and Julian Draxler either side of a rare own-goal for Radamel Falcao meant the party could get started in the French capital.
