Zimbabwean striker Tino Kadawere could hardly have introduced himself to the Lyon fans in better fashion than in the derby against St Etienne on November 8.

A substitute, the tall, strapping forward equalised eight minutes after coming on, before scoring a stunning winner nine minutes later. Kadewere told The Ligue 1 Show on beIN SPORTS: "It was a good game and I'm really happy. I'm pleased to score in a game like this, which is so important for the supporters."

Kadawere moved to France in 2019, joining second division side Le Havre after three seasons with Swedish side Djurgardens, and the powerful young attacker had a huge impact. Kadawere finished as the league"s top scorer with 24 goals. His strike rate at Le Havre was phenomenal, but contributed more than just goals.

Le Havre midfielder Alexandre Bonnet said: "Tino likes to link up with his teammates, he likes to play one-twos in tight spaces. What I like about him is he has his head on his shoulders. He knows when he's played well and when he hasn't. For such a young attacker, he has real maturity and I think that's what will help him go very far."

Garcia: "He's quite a complete player"

Lyon secured Kadawere"s secured for 12 million euros and the strong, battling forward has forced his way into the first team. Impressive nearly every time he gets a chance, Lyon coach Rudi Garcia is now starting Kadawere regularly, with Moussa Dembele dropping to the bench. Garcia commented He's quite a complete player because his passing is good and he reads the game well. And he's a quality finisher – as we've seen."

After his heroics against St Etienne, Kadawere scored for his country, Zimbabwe, against Algeria and then struck another winner for Lyon against Angers last Sunday. Ligue 1"s goalkeepers just can't get to grips with the man who has now scored with his last five attempts on target. Kadewere commented: "We're really pleased with this win. It's fantastic for me right now, and the team, so we need to keep going."
