Kylian Mbappé recently joined an exclusive club featuring the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Edinson Cavani by scoring his 100th goal for Paris Saint-Germain — the FIFA World Cup winner talked to This is Paris on BeIN Sport about his best and most significant strikes for the Ligue 1 Uber Eats champions.
Goal #1: PSG - Metz (09/09/17)
‘The first one, you remember. It was a big, big, big step in my career: signing for Paris Saint-Germain, one of the best clubs in the world. It was the beginning of the adventure. I couldn't wait to pull on the jersey. It was my first match in Metz, I remember. It was really a very important match for me. It was the first time I was with the teammates, I hadn't trained much, I had been with the national team, I trained once, I didn't even know my teammates but I had to be in the 'mood' right away, as they say. I managed to score that goal and it was a great relief. I was really very happy."
Goal #25: Nimes - PSG (01/09/18)
"Yes, yes, yes, it's Presnel who cleared long and then I think I did a nice control, I managed to get in front of the defender and I hit it on the volley. Yes, it was an important match!"
Goals #29, 30, 31 & 32: PSG - Lyon (07/10/18)
"The quadruple against Lyon. It was a great moment. It was a very close match against a team that was playing well. We played with ten men and we managed to score five goals in the match. To score a quadruple, plus I had just missed a few chances before, I had stayed in the game and scoring four goals against a team like Lyon is something strong and I was really happy. I thank my team-mates because they had put me in the best conditions that day to perform."
Goal #33: Marseille - PSG (28/10/18)
"I remember it was quite a story. I remember well. You make a mistake, you have to pay. And I paid the full price. I was watching Barça-Real in my room, I didn't see the time. You arrive late, then you pay the full price... But when you make a mistake you have to pay for it. And so I started on the bench, the coach took me out of the team. It was nil-nil when I came on, and I was already in the game because I was frustrated at not starting, but at the same time I really wanted to play because I wanted to show that even if I was being punished, I didn't want to get used to being on the bench. You have to show that you are there right away. And scoring at the Vélodrome as a Parisian is something strong and it pleased the club, the fans and that was the most important thing."
Goal #45: Saint-Etienne - PSG (17/02/19)
"Yes it was beautiful. It was Dani, it's a bad clearance from the 'keeper, Dani played me the perfect pass. And I hit it first time because it felt good...I had a look at the goal but I didn't see where the defender was so I thought he was going to catch me so I hit it first time and it went into the top corner. It was beautiful. Ney wasn't there, Edi wasn't there. I played a new position: all alone up front, number 9. I'd never played alone in front as a number 9. That's it, you have to play. It's sure that when there are important players who are not there it's more difficult. We were playing with defenders on the wings. But that's the way it was. You have to adapt. But it was a beautiful time. I managed to score a lot. I remember that I was playing for the Golden Boot in europe as well. So it was a period when I scored a lot and it was a good time in my career."
Goal #100: Montpellier - PSG (05/12/20)
"Well it's not the hardest to score. Let's be honest... We could be football experts and say that I got myself in a good position, but it's not hard to score this one. But it's symbolic and it's a pleasure to be able to score 100 goals for Paris Saint-Germain."
