Lille's dynamic winger Edon Zhegrova will be looking to take advantage of Nantes' vulnerability on Saturday.

The 24-year-old has been impressing for Paulo Fonseca's team, contributing three goals and five assists in 21 appearances. Against Lorient last month, the Kosovan was devastating off the bench, scoring twice during just eight minutes on the pitch.

'Change the game'

"I was really motivated to come on and help the team, because this is what you have to do every time the coach gives you the chance," Edon Zhegrova told the Ligue 1 Show on beIN SPORTS. "Five minutes, ten minutes, you have to be ready, and try to help the team. I've always been a player like this, to enter the game and to change the game, that's my quality. Today I did it and I'm very happy to help the team."

A €7m recruit from Basel 18 months ago, Zhegrova has helped Lille return to France's top five. In the 11 games he's started, Les Dogues have won seven times, averaging 2.2 goals a game. Without him, Lille average just over one goal a game.

"He's more of a team player now," said LOSC coach Paulo Fonseca. "He works more for the team. I still think he needs to improve defensively, but he played very well and I'm really pleased with Edon's performances.'

Impact

Zhegrova's strength is his ability to go past opponents; only Rennes' Jérémy Doku averages more successful dribbles per game than Lille's powerful No.23. Zhegrova is a threat from set pieces too – two of his assists have come from corners. Now, after missing the last two games to injury, the winger is desperate to return on Saturday.

"I'm working hard every day," Zhegrova said. "We have very good coaches, and of course I am progressing in a lot of things. Like working on the defensive side, and my physical part as well."

Zhegrova's ability to perform in Ligue 1 Uber Eats is no longer in question. If he can now add stamina and consistency to his game, Les Dogues will have another very special talent on their hands - and Nantes will have a big problem on theirs as they look for precious points in their bid to beat the drop.
