Paris Saint-Germain mounted a Tanguy Kouassi-inspired recovery to salvage a 4-4 draw at Amiens SC; FC Metz's draw at FC Nantes left them seven points clear of the drop while OGC Nice heaped the misery on bottom club Toulouse FC.

THE MATCH

PSG may have had half an eye on their UEFA Champions League last 16 encounter with Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday, but with the likes of Angel Di Maria, Mauro Icardi and Thiago Silva in their ranks they still lined up as overwhelming favourites at Amiens. The relegation-threatened hosts clearly had other ideas though, and took the lead inside five minutes when Serhou Guirassy got goal-side of Silva and lashed his seventh strike of the season low beyond Keylor Navas (5'). Les Licornes then double their lead just before the half-hour with a stunning goal. Guirassy dummied, allowing Gaël Kakuta to pick up possession, and the former Chelsea youngster steered an unstoppable left-footed finish into the far top corner (29'). Icardi headed a corner straight at Navas's opposite number Régis Gurtner (34') but the first-half traffic was flowing firmly in the opposite direction and Fousseni Diabaté gave Amiens a barely fathomable 3-0 lead when he ran at Silva and forced a deflected finish into the far corner (40'). Ander Herrera - a makeshift right-back on Saturday - made some amends for his defensive shortcomings on the stroke of half-time, finishing at the back post following a Meunier corner (45') and it was 3-1 at the break.

Kouassi-inspired comeback

Thomas Tuchel sent Marco Verratti and Marquinhos on at the interval, in place of Idrissa Gueye and Silva respectively (46') and the visitors looked better for the change - although perhaps that was more to do with an Amiens adrenalin dump than anything. Edinson Cavani - on the cusp of his club record-extending 200th goal for PSG - was inches away from sealing it when Gurtner clawed his back-post header away at the last (52'). Kakuta nearly scored another when he met Haitam Aleesami's cross at the back post but effort flew over the bar (57'). That profligacy was punished minutes later when PSG further reduced the arrears with Kouassi heading home his second senior professional goal from another Meunier corner (60'). Kouassi turned two into three for himself and his club when he rose highest to meet a Di Maria corner from the other side soon after (66') and the visitors pulled into the lead for the first time when Icardi tapped home Bernat's low cross at the back post (74'). Di Maria's attempt to add gloss to scoreline was denied by Gurtner (75'); Cavani hit a gilt-edged chance wide (90') and Guirassy's second of the game late on (90'+1) meant that it ended 4-4.

THE PLAYER: Tanguy Kouassi

Seventeen-year-old Kouassi's Ligue 1 Conforama career is only five appearances old, but it is already obvious why Tuchel has elevated him into the first-team picture. Fellow centre-back Silva - 18 years his senior - was the far more culpable for Paris's first-half goals conceded, and Kouassi may just have played himself into contention for the Champions League glamour tie in Dortmund next week.

THE STAT: 13

It was a lucky 13 for Amiens, who halted the league's second-longest losing streak. Les Licornes had lost five of their six previous games against the champions to the tune of 18 goals conceded against just three scored. In doubling their goal haul against PSG in the first half, Amiens also saw to it that their visitors conceded three in the opening 45 minutes for the first time since February 2012.

Metz, Oukidja

FC Nantes 0-0 FC Metz

Metz are now 15 points clear of bottom club Toulouse, their goalless draw away to FC Nantes all-but guaranteeing their top-flight survival for another season.

Last season's Domino's Ligue 2 winners had goalkeeper Alexandre Oukidja to thank for keeping them in it in the first 45 minutes, the Algeria shot-stopper denying Kalifa Coulibaly twice at either end of the half.

Les Canaris thought they should have had a penalty in the second half after an alleged handball in the box by John Boye, but after consultation with VAR, referee Jérémy Stinat waved play on. Andrei Girotto hit Oukidja's crossbar late on before Farid Boulaya was sent off for Metz, who held on for the draw with 10 men.

Girondins de Bordeaux 2-2 Dijon FCO

Mounir Chouiar scored twice as Dijon FCO picked up a much-needed point in their own battle against relegation with a 2-2 draw at Girondins de Bordaux's Matmut Atlantique.

The 21-year-old - who got the only goal in Dijon's 6-1 reverse against Paris Saint-Germain - opened the scoring just past the first quarter of an hour, but Bordeaux returned fire, first through Hwang Ui-jo, then Jimmy Briand, who scooted around goalkeeper Alex Runarrson for his 99th Ligue 1 Conforama goal.

Chouiar had the final say, though, his quick feet and neat finish into the far side giving him his first top-flight brace and his side a share of the spoils with a 2-2 draw.

Toulouse FC 0-2 OGC Nice

OGC Nice heaped the misery on Toulouse FC, Pierre Lees-Melou and Christophe Hérelle finding the target in a 2-0 win which saw their basement-dwelling hosts end the game with nine men, miss a penalty and stretch their unwanted winless record to 15 games.

Lees-Melou opened the scoring when he latched onto a cross from the returning Adam Ounas and steered home his fifth goal of the campaign. Ruben Gabrielsen was then given his marching orders for bringing down Kasper Dolberg as the last man, and Steven Moreira followed him for an early shower in the second half after collecting two yellow cards.

Denis Zanko's men were given a glimmer of hope when they won a penalty late on, but Aaron Leya Iseka saw his spot-kick saved by Walter Benitez and Nice added insult to injury in added time when Hérelle converted from close range to guarantee all three points for Patrick Vieira's side.

Nîmes Olympique 1-0 Angers SCO

Nîmes Olympique left it late against Angers SCO, Moussa Koné scoring in the final 10 minutes as Bernard Blaquart's side stretched their winning run to four games with a 1-0 victory over Angers SCO at the Stade des Costières.

Nîmes have looked rejuvenated since picking up Nolan Roux from EA Quingampo in the winter transfer window, and the striker was a handful for the visitors in the first half, coming close to opening the scoring after a Yassine Benrahou corner.

Casimir Ninga was sent off for Angers before Nîmes' second-half substitute Koné got the winner minutes later, the Senegalese striker forcing home Sidy Sarr's cross with his knee to inflict a fourth successive defeat on Angers.
